What to write in conclusion? It is actually not the complete conclusion. This and previous “articles” describe only the first stage of my cockpit project. Although I still don’t know if and what stages will follow. You may remember when somewhere at the beginning I wrote something like “In 3 months it could be done, I thought to myself”… In the end it was about 7 months, full of work on the weekends, even during the week evenings, ordering material (several times), 3D printing and reprinting, learning new things and finding solutions to different problems. But it was a pleasant journey, I learned a lot of new things and that is what I went in with. Even though I knew that I probably won’t use the cockpit as intensively as it deserves anyway 🙂 Hey, even now instead of enjoying it, I’m writing these articles.
I would like to thank to all other “cockpit builders” and other “aviation nerds” people. I don’t think it’s in my power to put together all the resources I’ve used on this journey. I’m sure I’ll forget someone. One of the biggest thanks must go to Captain Bob, for his Cessna 172 project and for publishing his hard-earned creations and procedures for the rest of us for free. Without it, I probably wouldn’t have started this because I would have to “reinvent the wheel” in many cases. Thanks also to everyone behind MobiFlight, thanks to which we have this great software for communication between simulator and electronics, and all for free. And also to everyone who shares their 3D objects on sites like Thingverse, Printables, and others, which usually made it possible to find a finished object to print and solve a problem without me having to reinvent it. And it was almost always free too.
If I forgot anyone, I’m sorry, it wasn’t on purpose. And if you feel offended by this, let me know and I’ll fix it 🙂 So again, thanks, and below is a list of all the downloads from the first phase of the cockpit build.
