Dial the Gate is an independent video podcast focused on the world of Stargate and the preservation of its history. It is created and hosted by David Read, a long-time journalist and Stargate fan who was also involved in the creation of the fan website GateWorld. The podcast features interviews with actors, writers, producers, and other members of the creative teams behind the series and films within the Stargate universe. It offers not only recollections from the production process but also a wealth of behind-the-scenes information, trivia, and personal stories—content that no fan of traveling through the Ancients’ ring should miss.
This website was launched just a few days ago (as of August 2026). It serves as the home for a podcast featuring actor Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG-1) and David Read (of the YouTube channel Dial The Gate and the website dialthegate.com). Together, they share various behind-the-scenes stories and trivia from the Stargate universe—details that have never been discussed anywhere else. For fans, this is a “must-listen.”
As I already mentioned in the description for this category, Stargate is one of those series that holds a special place in my heart—a connection that remains unchanged even when viewed through the eyes of someone twenty years wiser (well, the “wiser” part is debatable…) than when I first watched it. For roughly that same span of time—about 20 years now—the website GateWorld.net has been covering everything related to the franchise. You’re likely already familiar with it, but if not—and if you share my sentiment—it’s definitely worth a visit.
